Father’s Day is a celebration honoring fathers and celebrating fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence of fathers in society. SNBP World School celebrated Father’s day on the 14th of June. It was the first event of the new academic year. The fathers were invited to come to school on a prior notice which made them feel special. They were all happily present. They were welcomed by the teachers and the student with a very special “World’s Best Father!” badge.
After which each class had various activities planned. The fathers were asked to come forward and share their parenthood experiences and memories with everyone. The children too were encouraged to reciprocate their feeling towards their father. The teachers had called for a white handkerchief on which the father and the child were asked to showcase their creativity. They had a free choice to decorate the handkerchief with paints, sketch pens etc. These handkerchiefs were later collected along with a message on it. These mementos will be later sent to the ‘JAWANS’ of the Indian Army as remembrance and respect for their service.
The dynamic event concluded by fathers expressing their feelings on the occasion. They appreciated the efforts of school authorities for this unique idea of involving Fathers in such celebrations and said that these types of events help them to know their children better and also help them to nurture their relationship with their children. The fathers went home looking forward to the next years Father’s Day Celebration.
